When I generate a report I am getting the client and project without the task. Is there a way to include the task in the report that is generated. And is there a way to filter by task? The task is important to identify what part of the project I am working on.

It sounds like you may have set the Report "Type" to "Time Sheet".  Set it back to "Time & Expenses" or "Time Entries".  Time Sheets are just a summary.  The regular reports will show all columns unless you have turned some of them off in the Setup -> Reports -> Export Fields.
