Title: Start and End / Expiry dates on Projects / Tasks
Post by: blokey on December 14, 2010, 05:38:32 am
Hi,

Would it be possible to add start and end dates to projects and task database entries so that rather than marking a task / project as hidden, you could end-date the item and it would be hidden in the same way if the end date has passed but would keep track of the date the project completed.

It would also allow projects to be created with a end-date and automatically hidden once the date of the time entry is greater than the end date.

I don't think that we want to do that.  It would be too easy to forget why things seems to "disappear" and you wouldn't be able to find it in the main list.  If you have to manually go in and mark the item as "hidden", you'll be more likely to remember that you did that on purpose.  Also we don't want to slow things down by putting more of a strain on the database by having to do more calculations to see if we need to "hide" something in the lists.  Sorry.   :(
